Gerbermühle
The tannery, which was built in 1520 and is now under a preservation order, has been used as an inn going back as far as 1904. It became famous mainly due to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who stopped by in 1814 and 1815. After several years of stagnation, followed by renovation and extension into a hotel, this popular destination for a day trip was finally opened again in Summer 2007. Since then numerous customers, from business people to joggers, can once again take a seat in the beautiful summer garden – with room for up to 500 – to enjoy Frankfurt specialties.
